(InterHill MED) had successfully completed the national FIM group in the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University. The patients hadgood surgical results and were all discharged from hospital after recovery. It marks that the self-developed pulsed atrial fibrillation ablation system in China has officially entered the stage of large-scale clinical research, bringing a brand new treatment option for some patients with end-stage atrial fibrillation. The operation was performed jointly by Professor Zhang Zhihui, Director of the Atrial Fibrillation Center of the Third Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, Dr.Huang, a famous cardiology and electrophysiology expert in the United States, and Dr. Xu Tao, chief scientist of Hillhouse Medical Electronic Science and Technology. The success of the first batch of operations marked the official start of clinical research on LomaPulse® pulsed electric field ablation products in China! ![]() (Figure 1: Postoperative group photo of the main surgical staff)
A three dimensional model of the left atrium should be established before surgery. Under the double guarantee of Professor Zhang Zhihui's exquisite surgical skills and the good manipulation of LomaPulse® catheter, the accuracy of the left atrial model was comparable to CT. The pulmonary veins of the model were clearly visible, and the matrix mapping was performed before operation. ![]() (图2:左心房三维模型图) During the operation, Professor Zhang Zhihui first used LomaPulse® mapping electrode to map the intracavinal electrical signals of the patient, and then used LomaPulse® pulse ablation catheter to pulse ablation the LSPV, LIPV, RSPV and RIPV of the patient, and successfully achieved pulmonary vein isolation in only 50 seconds. Finally, CS S1S1 (S1S2) pacing stimulation did not induce AF. ![]() (Figure 3: Director Zhang Zhihui during the operation) ![]() ![]() (Figure 4: Pulmonary vein potential maps before and after LIPV ablation) After PFA ablation, matrix mapping of pulmonary vein low voltage revealed complete isolation of all four pulmonary veins, as shown in FIG. 5.PFA消融术后,基质标测肺静脉低电压显示出四根肺静脉完全隔离,如图5。 ![]()
Innovative breakthrough: Traditional cryoablation or radiofrequency ablation has the disadvantages of long time consuming, possible damage to nerve and esophageal tissue, and pulmonary vein stenosis. The application of LomaPulse® pulsed electric field ablation products significantly shortened the procedure time, and achieved selective ablation of myocardial cells, maintained the integrity of tissue matrix, and did not damage the surrounding tissues, thus improving the efficiency and success rate of the ablation procedure. 002Basic information of the patients: A female patient complained of "intermittent palpitations and chest tightness for three years" and was diagnosed with arrhythmia (paroxysmal atrial fibrillation). preoperative preparation Transthoracic echocardiography, performed before surgery, revealed a left atrium of 30mm anterior and posterior, a left ventricular diameter (LVD) of 44mm, a left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of 67%, and normal ventricular wall motion. Preoperative CT pulmonary veins were clear and no thrombosis was found in the left atrial appendage. 3D reconstruction of the left atrium was similarly performed before surgery, and preoperative matrix mapping was performed, as shown in Figure 6. ![]() (Figure 6:3D model of the left atrium) postoperative The puncta of all four pulmonary veins disappeared completely after surgery, as shown in Figure 7: After RSPV ablation, the pulmonary vein potential disappeared. ![]() ![]() (Figure 7: Potentials before and after RSPV ablation) 术后基质标测:肺静脉低电压,四根肺静脉完全隔离,如图8。 ![]() (Figure 8: Postoperative matrix mapping) The patients reported that the operation was carried out quickly, with high efficiency, good postoperative recovery, and the original palpitation disappeared. Postoperative electrocardiogram showed sinus rhythm. Atrial fibrillation is the most common tachyarrhythmia, with a total number of more than 10 million patients in China. It not only affects the quality of life of patients, but also can lead to heart failure in patients, and is one of the important causes of stroke. Studies have shown that catheter ablation is an effective means to restore and maintain sinus rhythm in patients with atrial fibrillation. At present, there are two main methods of catheter ablation in the world, including radiofrequency ablation and cryoablation. Pulse ablation can maintain the integrity of the tissue matrix in the ablation area, and can achieve tissue ablation without relying on the adherence of the ablation catheter, without damaging the surrounding tissues. LomaPulse® pulsed electric field ablation products independently developed by Cunhouse Medical uses high-voltage electrical pulse energy that can achieve selective myocardial ablation. Its unique and innovative catheter design technology, self-learning detection technology and multi-mode polarization fusion ablation technology are applied to the treatment of atrial fibrillation, which further improves the efficiency and success rate of ablation procedure. LomaPulse® pulsed field ablation products have been placed high hopes by the field of atrial fibrillation treatment and electrical energy medical field since its inception. It provides green and healthy "electric energy" options for atrial fibrillation ablation in China and even the Asia-Pacific, and better meets the diversified treatment needs of clinicians and patients.
